The Preserving Power of the Promised Pentecost

Topic – The Preserving Power of the Promised Pentecost

Text – Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8; 2:39
Here was the risen Lord speaking to His own disciples, those who are saved, and prayed for that the Father will sanctify them. And that the Great Commission is ahead of them, and now He told them to wait for the promised power until they are endured with the power from on High.
You will do in Jerusalem where they are religious, in Samaria, where they are syncretic and in the utmost part of the arty where they are idolatrous.
The emphasis of Jesus Christ is beyond the speaking in tongues, but the power to witness inspite of oppositions and trials. True Pentecostal power is available for all of God’s Children today not just for the early church.
Those who are far away and at those present then
We need of the power of the Spirit to refresh, quicken, strengthen, enlightens, inspires, illuminates, teaches, guides, reveals the Son, Sanctifier, Healer to us, to edifies us, searches and convicts us, to heals us, intercedes for us, comforts us in all the situations of life, helps us when the load is heavy to carry. Without Him we will be limited and handicap in life and ministry. With Him, you will counsel, pray, and do the Will of God in the power of the Spirit.
3 points;
Point 1. The Prophetic Anticipation of our Pentecost
Numbers 11:24-29; Proverbs 1:23; Isaiah 44:3-6; Ezekiel 36:25-27; Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:37-39
There were people on the Old Testament that were looking ahead when the Holy Ghost in power will come upon the children of God.
The Spirit came upon them, and they had spiritual insight to prophesy, and they did not cease, but went on and on.
Something supernatural always happens at the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
Now is the time that Moses was looking forward to, that all the people of God saved and sanctified be filled and saturated with the Spirit of God.
The outpouring of the Spirit was a future promise in the Old Testament. And when you have the pouring of the Spirit, you will be made known the word of God. Every where they went, the word of God came upon them whenever there is a challenge, because of the Spirit of God that is resident in them. The promises you never knew, you will know them, and get the blessings as well. It will be very easy to get your testimony anywhere, no shame to share your witness of Christ.
There will be no confusion in your mind about religion when you are filled with the Holy Ghost. You will understand the knowledge of the Almighty God
Some things better are coming upon you when you are filled with the Holy Ghost. Every form of idols are gone, the thing that holds your attention, and stand between you and God. There will be a transformation and a change in your heart. This is beyond religion and tradition, doing it as usual, there will be a change. The believer is forgiven, set free, and the Lord will write His law, words in our heart, and the Spirit that will help me, to be inside my heart, giving me strength, conviction, courage and power to overcome, in the day, and night. When you are baptise in the Holy Ghost, the Lord will make me to do something, no alternative, to walk in the statutes of the Lord.
This is not limited to a particular denomination, no discrimination, but to all flesh. When the Spirit comes, your sons and daughters shall prophesy not just playing games, and your old men, shall not retire, but dream dreams, have great visions to do more for the kingdom of God in them, and your young men shall see visions of souls to reach for Christ.
At the time of John the Baptist, he continue the chain of that anticipation. When you have the Spirit of God, lukewarmness, coldness, sleeping in church, that will vanish away, fire will come upon your life. Fervency will come upon our life.
The Promised Pentecost is coming but there must be the desire, passion and thirst for that above every other thing.
This is not restricted to a people, place nor a period.
The fullness of the Spirit had been anticipated, desired, and it is ours today.
Point 2. The Promised Answer from His Presence
Zechariah 10:1; Luke 11:9-13; 24:49; John 14:12,17; Acts 1:4,5,8; 2:1; 4:31,33
It is the time of the latter rain, and yet we must ask. People will try to use logic that since it is the latter rain, we don’t need to do any thing nor asking, but we are to ask Him, not to ask a man to lay hands on you. It is the Lord that will give the Holy Ghost.
You deserve this enrichment, enveloping of Holy Spirit power. If we ask in the right way having entered into the kingdom, and into the Holiest of holy.
The natural illustration will stop, and the spiritual illustration will begin. There are times that the child don’t have to ask and ask before providing essential things for the children, but for the spiritual, you must ask.
Even though He said that He sent the promise of the Father upon you, then we must wait, tarry for that power. We still have to pray, ask and call upon the Lord to be saved, sanctified, you will ask and tarry. When you pray, you will feel something, but then keep on praying until you be endured with power from High.
The one that makes you stretch your hands of mercy to outsiders, is the power of the Holy Ghost. Salvation and sanctification experiences are all personal.
The Holy Spirit dwells with you, at salvation and sanctification, but then move on to the Holy Ghost to dwell in you.
The promise of power in Luke 10 is personal, but now the power for outreach in evangelism and soulwinning, is this power of the Holy Spirit.
He gives and then you receives.
The promise of the Spirit is naturally occur, nobody will teach you how to speak in tongues just as nobody will teach a baby on how to suck the mother’s milk. It will happen naturally.
The outpouring, provision of Jesus, the privilege of every child of God, tarry and pray, consecrate and obtain by faith.
Point 3. The Persuasive Assurance of His Power
Deuteronomy 34:9-12; 2 Kings 2:9-15; John 15:26; 16:7-14; 14:26; Acts 5:1-3; 1:8; 8:4; 19:2
When somebody have the power, presence and preeminence of the Holy Ghost in his life, how do we know? By speaking in tongues, that is partially true, because the ass of Balaam spoke. This one makes you distinct, extra ordinary, bold, courageous, have vision that no fire of persecution can quench, that makes you to get vision even in your old age.
The evident was there in the life of Moses. He had the assurance and gift of the Spirit.
It depend on your aspiration, ambition, the value you put on the Holy Spirit.
You will go over if you have that desire, thirst, passion and asking that he did.
The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Truth, and you know that when there is error in anything no matter how small it is.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter whatever happens to you. Your life will convince people of their sins, because of the Holy Ghost in you.
He will guide you into all truth, the truth of eschatology, and of things to come, He will guide you into that truth. He is the Author of the word, so He will teach you all things. And you will remember the word of the Lord in the times of needs.
He is the Spirit of Revelation, He will bring things to come.
Pentecost signifies power, perception, makes us to Persuasion, drives us into prayer, gives us progress, reproduces the life and ministry of Christ in us.
