Pastor Ayo Akinsanya

Pastor Ayo Akinsanya

When Pastor (Dr.) Ayo Akinsanya graduated as the best Biochemistry student from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1979, he was only a serious-minded, disciplined and committed church-goer. In keeping with the tradition of the Biochemistry department, he was employed as Graduate Assistant in 1980, which marked the beginning of his career as an academician. He taught Biochemistry to students of Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine while pursuing his Master’s degree. Given his keen interest in the medical and pharmacological aspects of Biochemistry, he obtained an Overseas Research Students (ORS) Award and was admitted into the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) for Leukaemia research in January 1988.

It was while researching for his PhD degree that Pastor Ayo became born again. He then joined the Deeper Life Bible Study Group that was only just starting around that time in Manchester. The systematic and expository approach to Bible Study and preaching settled him in the Deeper Christian Life Ministry. As God would have it, the erstwhile serious-minded, disciplined and committed church-goer became a passionate disciple of Master Jesus with a big heart for the pastoral ministry. He became a Pastor in 1992 and Regional Overseer in 2007.

Pastor Ayo is blessed with a wonderful wife Sister Moni Akinsanya who plays a vital role in nurturing the church to raise winners through worship, warfare and witnessing. They have been married for over 38 years and have three children (one daughter and two sons – Dayo, Sam and Abel); three lovely grandchildren (Rhema, Esther and Eliora) and counting. This man of God is a determined soldier of the cross who can truly say with Joshua: “but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” The great work God is using him to do continues, his commitment to making an impact for God is unwavering, and his passion for living for Christ’s glory alone remains unabating.
